In one day, we shaped a brighter future.

You showed your dedication to our student-athletes’ journies to excellence, and it was an amazing day of giving. Crusaders across the globe came together to contribute the highest single-day total in Holy Cross Athletics Giving Day history. We look forward to sharing final results next week.

Today, you went All In for Crusader Athletics. You showed the power of the Holy Cross community and committed to the continued development of ethical leaders, champion athletes, and men and women for and with others.

Thank you for your support and dedication to this special family. We wouldn’t be who we are without you, and we are humbled by your generosity.

Our next great moment awaits.

Go All In for Crusader student-athletes today!

May 14, 2021

Today, I’m asking you, and all Crusaders, to go ALL IN.

All year, our student-athletes have dedicated themselves to looking towards the future, growing stronger as individuals and teammates athletically, academically and personally.

With fortitude, we are continuing to prepare our 700 Crusaders to compete at the highest level. Just as they are committed to training and learning, to capitalizing on the opportunities in front of them, we are committed to our vision – delivering a transformative student-athlete experience driven by competitive success.

Year after year, regardless of the circumstances, one thing remains constant — the strength of Crusaders when we go ALL IN for one another. Every dollar you give today will be dedicated to continuing our tradition of developing champions. And today, thanks to the Hope + Access campaign, all new and increased gifts are being matched 100% for financial aid.

Together, we are strong. Together, we shape our future. Together, let’s go ALL IN for Crusader student-athletes.

Go Cross Go!

An Update from Head Coach Jen Lapicki

May 12, 2021

The 2021 softball season is complete, and I could NOT be prouder of our team! The 2020-2021 academic year was a challenging one, to say the least. Our fall was spent apart and our spring was filled with unique COVID protocols and quarantines, in addition to the regular demands of a Division I student-athlete. But no obstacle was or is too big for this group! When I say this is a program of fighters, that is an understatement. The fight in this group and the love for the game were seen more than ever before.

A Quick Note

I wanted to take a brief moment to share a story with you. Late this spring, we departed campus on a Friday for Colgate. We played Colgate on Saturday, immediately drove to Lehigh afterwards to spend the night, and played Lehigh on Sunday. On that Sunday morning, we woke for game day and went outside to have breakfast. I remember watching the team laugh together, share stories, and fully embrace their time together. In that moment, I was more grateful than ever to be a part of this program and this team. We were road warriors this spring and we overcame three pauses due to COVID. To be able to smile and laugh in the most demanding of times was truly inspiring. I am grateful for their commitment to the game, each other, and the program.

Highlights of the Year

This past season, we had a number of highlights! We had the best eight-game start to a season in 22 years. Kelly Nelson '22 now ranks 2nd in program history for career strikeouts and threw her second No-Hitter vs. Army (yes, she no-hit them her freshman year as well!). Kelly also earned herself a Patriot League Pitcher of the week award.

Bella Jankowski '21 had an incredible year and was named the Crusader Breakthrough Athlete of the Year! Hard work really does pay off, and Bella sets the example of what that looks like every day.

Defensively, we finished the year ranked 6th in the nation for double plays turned per game. Now that is AWESOME!

Crusaders All In

As we look at the year ahead, we are excited to welcome our new freshmen class and begin training once again to compete for a Patriot League Championship. As I told the team this week, our new journey starts now and we will train harder than we ever have before. We look forward to getting back to “normal” and having a full year together.

I want to thank all of you for making this past year and all future years possible! Through your support and generosity, we continue to provide a platform for our student-athletes to compete and play the game they love.

I ask that if you are able, please join me this Friday, May 14 in supporting Holy Cross Softball. Your generosity and support, no matter how big or small, has major impacts on the future of our student-athletes. Keep an eye on your email and social media on Friday to learn more about making a gift to softball and to hear from our student-athletes.

I look forward to being able to see you all soon!

Go ‘Saders!

What an amazing #GivingTuesday!

We are in awe of and so very grateful for our supporters who continue to go All In for our student-athletes. Your generosity allows us to prepare our Crusaders for a stronger tomorrow as they strive to succeed and lead in athletics, in the classroom and in their communities.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks for your support! Holy Cross would not be what it is today without the participation and dedication of Crusader Nation.

Crusaders All In this Giving Tuesday!

Holy Cross student-athletes are dedicated and resilient. When our world — and in turn, our campus life — changed this year, we adapted. Through challenge after challenge, our commitment to our education and our athletics never faltered. And today, we remain focused and hopeful for the future.

This is why we are asking the Holy Cross community to come together right now in support of our student-athletes.

Whether you make a gift to the Fund for Athletics Excellence or to one of our 27 varsity teams, your generosity helps position us for an even stronger return to competition.

In the face of unprecedented challenges, we know that one thing remains constant — the strength of Crusaders when we go all in to support one another. On this Giving Tuesday, your gift is for our future. With your support, our next great moment awaits.

Stop by our Zoom Meetings on Sundays!

Hello Fellow Crusader Alums! I hope you are all doing well and finding some joy amidst this crazy time. I just wanted to chime in and say hello and also invite you into our weekly team Zoom calls! We are managing to stay connected as a team with weekly calls on Sunday nights between 8-9 p.m. and would love to have any of you stop in. You are welcome to give the team some encouragement or just hop in to say hello! They always love hearing from alums and connecting, so it would be great to have some of you pop into a meeting or two!

If you are interested in doing so, feel free to shoot me an email at kchriste@holycross.edu! We’d love to see you!

We recently put together a big video for an alum and I was reminded just how strong and amazing our HCSB community truly is, so I know our girls would love the camaraderie reminder, especially during this challenging time, by seeing you in our Zooms! Stay safe and healthy, and I hope to see you all on Zoom and then some games in the spring!
