Cheer on our Crusader Men's Basketball at the Hart Center as they face off against BU. Tipoff is at 12:00 PM EST.

Come learn about and celebrate the important life and career of baseball legend Louis Sockalexis (Penobscot). Sockalexis played on the Holy Cross team from 1895-96 and broke barriers in professional baseball when he left the Holy Cross to join the Cleveland Spiders (1897-99), which later became the Cleveland Indians.

Ed Rice, retired Maine journalist and author of Baseball's First Indian, and Professor John Bear Mitchell, Penobscot Nation member and Professor of Native American Studies at University of Maine at Orono, will provide a rich introduction to Sockalexis' life, triumphs, and struggles, and the campaign to have his accomplishments recognized by Major League Baseball. Join us for a guided tour of Associate Professor Emeritus, Michael Beatty’s work: Fabrications on Saturday, Feb. 8 at 11 a.m. 

Professor Beatty taught sculpture and three-dimensional design at Holy Cross for 25 years before retiring in 2023. 

This retrospective exhibition celebrating his sculptural practice investigates duality and hierarchy as a dialogue between technology-assisted and handmade forms. Beatty’s work, inclusive of prints and drawings, is informed by concepts and visual culture taken from science, nature, and mathematics. Beatty’s sculptures and drawings are evocative hybrids of geometry and biological form.

When 250 donors make a gift to any arts designation, Stephen Skinner '77 will give $25,000 in memory of Nancy Savage Skinner '79, a passionate supporter of the arts.

Tom ’71 and Jeannine Clarke have generously offered the following challenges for our student-athletes:
 

• The team with the highest percentage of alumni giving will receive $25,000
• The team with the highest number of unique, individual donors will receive $25,000
• Each team with 100% parent/family household participation will receive $1,000

President Rougeau will donate $2,500 if 250 seniors make a gift today!

For every 1,000 donors, a generous group of alumni and parents will give $125,000, up to $1,000,000, in celebration of our 10th annual Giving Day.
