What is the Power of Purple Giving Day?

The Power of Purple Giving Day is a full day on which the entire Holy Cross community comes together to share their love in support of HC!

Today, Tues., Feb. 14, 2023 – Valentine’s Day! – is our eighth annual day of giving and will run for 24 hours from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. EDT.

Keep an eye on social and check back here throughout the day to see what is happening and how you can increase the impact of your gift!

Does My Gift Have More Impact If I Give on Giving Day? 

Yes! An amazing and generous group of current and former Trustees will give $100,000 for every 1,000 donors, up to $400K – amplifying your gift!

Check out the matches and challenges section for details on other ways to increase your impact. Your gift may meet the criteria for other challenges or matches.

What options exist for making a gift?

The Power of Purple Giving Day is time-limited, so we strongly encourage you to make your gift online today, Tues., Feb. 14. You can make a gift with stocks or securities. Please call us at 877-433-1843, or email our team at hcfund@holycross.edu, to let us know, so we can count your gift; be sure to mention “Holy Cross Giving Day.”

Gifts through donor-advised funds can also be made. To make a distribution to Holy Cross through your donor-advised fund, please contact your financial institution and include “Holy Cross Giving Day” along with your gift designation. Let our team know at hcfund@holycross.edu so we can count your support.

What payment methods do you accept online?

In addition to debit and credit cards, you can make your gift using PayPal, Venmo, GooglePay or ApplePay. 

I made a gift earlier this year. Will that count?

Thank you for supporting Holy Cross this year!. Only gifts made today, Tues., Feb. 14, count toward the Power of Purple Giving Day. If you would like to share the Power of Purple and support our Giving Day, we encourage you to make an additional gift today. 

I’ve made my Giving Day gift. How else can I help?

Thank you for your gift! We encourage you to show your love for Holy Cross and celebrate the Power of Purple within your Holy Cross social networks. 

Share your custom link (provided towards the bottom of your receipt or in your GiveCampus account) and you can measure your impact! Post on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn with the hashtag #ILoveHC for a chance to win Holy Cross swag.

You can also become an Advocate - sign up or sign in on GiveCampus! Share messages to support the Power of Purple Giving Day, inspire your network by creating a challenge or a match, or tell your own story by creating and sharing your own personal video. You can even track the impact you’re making!
